Psalm 48

You are His Temple!

Within your temple, O God,
We still meditate on your unfailing love.
Psalm 48:9

What sets God apart from every other place or theme, is God and His Glory.
Everything in the temple says "Glory!"  Every worshiper, every angelic being, even its furnishings and the structure itself cries out—"Glory to God."  And all the people, we together make a single unit of worship carried out in our inner mediations.   The theme of God's unfailing love is the meditation of our soul. His mercy, lovingkindness, and goodness... all convey a part of its meaning.  But all this put together can not fully express the whole.  God's love for us, as His children, is inexhaustible.

1 Corinthians 6:19, Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

You are not your own, you were bought at a price. The temple of God must have distinctive marks upon it proclaiming His glory  and inner meditation all focused on His unfailing love. When we meet these conditions and our whole body cries "Glory to God" and all thoughts focus on Him, then we become God's temple

The physical location of being in a structure is not important--as what our hearts are experiencing at the very moment.  In a car, at the office, in our kitchen, is not important as we focus our heart and mind on His unfailing love. We open our lips and praise Him with our whole being:  Praise Him!
From the depths of my being I meditate on Your unfailing love--my mouth proclaims
      Your glory.

PSALM 48  A song.  A psalm of the Sons of Korah
1    Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
2    It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth.
Like the utmost heights of Zaphona is Mount Zion, the  city of the Great King.
3    God is in her citadels, He has shown himself to be her fortress.
4    When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together,
5    They saw her and were astounded—they fled in terror.
6    Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor.
7    You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish shattered by an east wind.
8    As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Almighty,
in the city of our God:   God makes her secure forever.                      Selah
9    Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.
10   Like your name, O God, Your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11    Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments.
12   Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers,
13   Consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation.
14   For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.
